A beautiful bride (on the inside and the outside)

As Eric (the groom) was getting ready for his wedding day, his dad looked at me and said, “Eric is so lucky.  Amanda (the bride) is so beautiful.”  To that I answered, “Yes she is and she looks so amazing in her dress!  She is a gorgeous bride!”  Eric’s father smiled and agreed with me but went on to explain that he was actually talking about how beautiful she is on the inside and he went on to talk about her amazing character and her love for the Lord.  Wow….  I think that is one of the best compliments anyone could ever give someone!  It was such a sweet thing to hear before their ceremony.  And this dad knows what he is talking about.  Amanda was so sweet and gentle and kind and patient.  And Eric was just as wonderful – plus, he had me laughing most of the day with his witty humor.  I loved seeing Eric’s face as Amanda pulled up on the horse drawn carriage for their ceremony.  His overwhelming emotion of love can even be seen in the photos.  It was a beautiful day and a wonderful ceremony.  We even had time to take a few photos at some of my favorite Greenwood spots after their reception was done.  And I need to give a special thank you to my two assistants, Dawn Stout and Hanna Bennett.  They were both amazing and I’m so grateful for their help.  Thanks guys!

p.s. I’m trying a new way of displaying the photos for this post – you can either click on the thumbnails to see the enlarged photo or just click on the already enlarged photo and it should go on to the next photograph.  Not sure if I like this way better or the slideshow.  Let me know if you have an opinion.  :)

A Perfect Kentucky Wedding

I had the amazing privilege to photograph this beautiful wedding down in my favorite state of Kentucky!  (Go Asbury Eagles!)  Just wait until you see these photos.  The ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Talon Winery in Lexington, KY and the weather was wonderful.  (Well, it was a little hot.  But it didn’t rain!  So, I’m not complaining!!!!)  This bride and groom are already extremely gorgeous and striking on any normal given day – wait until you see them all done up for their wedding!!!  Wowza!!!!  Plus, their bridal party was so fun to work with and both of their families were so sweet and kind.  I felt so blessed to be a part of such an amazing and beautiful, Christ-centered wedding.  There are so many photos that I wanted to put on the blog, that I had to make a slide show – it’s at the end of this post.  (If the slide show is too slow for your liking – you can put your cursor at the bottom of the slide show and click on the photos instead.)  But here are a few of my favorites to show you first.

Fabulous pix!!! Really captured it! Where did you find the tobacco barn to use? And where was that old storefront/ Did you know I spent the day Sunday a couple weeks ago with Debra reminiscing in Wilmore?! Your settings for the photos looked so familiar, but I didn’t dare venture a guess, because some memories go back 45 yrs.! I have an Ansel Adams photography technique book. He looks like he took s class from you!!

Hey Drew, I hope to have them up in a couple weeks. June was a crazy busy month with 4 weddings and it takes me at least 2 weeks to get them edited for each one. I will for sure be posting some from their wedding – it was such a beautiful wedding! Hope you are doing great!

A Girl and Her Horse

This is my friend, Sarah.  This is Sarah’s horse, Lincoln.  This is Sarah in one of the coolest tutus ever made!  :) I had so much fun doing this photo shoot!  If you know me – you know that I love tutus!!!!  So, when Sarah told me she was making one for our photos with Lincoln – I was so excited!  The sun was perfect for our pictures and Lincoln put up with my camera clicking away, my reflector being shined in his face and his owner wearing a bright, pink skirt.  What a good horse!  :)
